2007 Afghanistan: Promoting Afghanistan Malnutrition Campaign in Partnership with NEI

GIA Outreach participated in the promotion of the campaign to solve the malnutrition problem in Afghanistan through the bean nutrition ministry Cooperation with Nutrition & Education International (NEI), an international NGO.

Since 2006, Nutrition & Education International(NEI) has been conducting a soy milk program (soy milk and bean cookie) for many Afghanistan children, including street children, in the region with the highest child mortality rate among 34 states in Afghanistan. Soy milk is the most economical way to consume protein, and when children consume it, the skeleton, muscles, and immune system improvement. Most soy milk restaurant beneficiaries can see a noticeable improvement in health within three months when they consume soy milk with regular meals. Over the past decade, NEI has provided soy milk meals to more than 1.8 million children in Herat, Kabul, and Badakshan in Afghanistan.
